With the introduction of the self-developed HFFS printhead in 2017, HAGE3D launched a solution that allows the printing of highly filled metal / ceramic filaments as well as the printing of PC and other thermoplastics. Without retooling the 3d printer.

The solution allows the use of Ultrafuse 316l (BASF) or other manufacturers whose filament surface is rough and whose material is more brittle. Meanwhile, several universities but also numerous research departments of large companies use the model HAGE3D 140L with the HFFS printhead for indirect metal printing.

Reason enough to invite HAGE3D, represented by General Manager Thomas Janics, to a lecture at the “2nd Sinter-based Additive Manufacturing Workshop” in Bremen. In addition to HAGE3D also Desktop Metal, Digital Metal, exOne, Materialize and Volkswagen spoke at the workshop. Together with the named companies as well as with other experts, around 100 workshop participants from the USA and Europe discussed opportunities, the current state of technology and new developments of sinter-based additive manufacturing.
