A very special material made it this week’s “Print of the Week”: PEKK. The special thing about PEKK is that the material is extremely durable and heat resistant. However, the downside is that – due to the high melting point of the material (nozzle temperature 380 ºC, printing bed temperature 140 ºC) – not many industrial, large format 3D printers can handle this material. We tried it with the HAGE3D 140L – and we succeded! With a layer thickness of 0.2 mm and a nozzle diameter of 0.4 mm, we have manufactured the PEKK boat in about two hours. The boat is 60 mm long, 30 mm wide and 50 mm high.
